Breaststroker/IMer Aaron Zhu of SOLO Aquatics Commits to MIT for Fall 2020

NEW COMMIT: Massachusetts Institute of Technology has picked up a new in-state commitment for the class of 2024 from Aaron Zhu of Chelmsford, Ma.

He told Swimming World:

“I am super excited to officially announce my verbal commitment to swim at MIT! I cannot wait to continue my academic and athletic career and call MIT my home for the next four years. Thank you to all my friends, teammates, family, and coaches for continuously supporting me! #HereWeGoTech”

Zhu owns a pair of Winter Juniors standards and does his club swimming with SOLO Aquatics. At the New England Senior Championships, he recorded five top-20 finishes after earned a best time in the 100 back at Juniors East. Last summer, he placed fourth in the 200m breast and 200m IM at New England Seniors and swam a lifetime best at Junior Nationals.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 57.87
  • 200 breast – 2:03.95
  • 200 IM – 1:52.14
  • 400 IM – 4:02.69
  • 100 back – 51.42
