Carlee Jones has announced her verbal commitment to Eastern Michigan University. Jones, who swims for the Northern Kentucky Clippers, is primarily a breaststroker and also a strong IMer.
She told Swimming World, “I am so excited to be an eagle!”
Her best times are:
- 100 Breast 1:05.17
- 200 Breast 2:21.17
- 200 IM 2:08.14
- 400 IM 4:27.51
Swimming for Notre Dame Academy, Jones finished 11th in the 200 IM at the 2016 Kentucky High School State championships. In the 100 breaststroke, Jones finished eighth, stopping the clock in 1:05.52.
At last year’s Mid-American Conference Championship, Jones would have been a B finalist in the 100 breaststroke. In the 200 breaststroke she would have just missed a second swim. She will join a breaststroke group led by Delaney Duncan. Last year Duncan tied for fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.36) and put up a dominant effort to win the 100 breaststroke in MAC record time of 59.46.
