Boston College Picks Up Verbal From Cape Cod’s Madeline King
NEW COMMIT: Kingston, Mass. native Madeline King has announced her verbal to stay in-state next fall and swim for Boston College.
King swims year round with Cape Cod Swim Club under head coach Marc Solomon and owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 200 back. She placed 18th in the 200m IM at Richmond Futures this summer and competed in four events at Juniors East last winter. She recorded a pair of personal bests at New England Seniors, was the 200 free and 200 IM runner-up at New England Age Groups, and was a five-time finalist at Buffalo Speedo Sectionals last season.
She told Swimming World:
“I am thrilled to announce my commitment to Boston College class of 2023! I chose Boston College because it is a place that offers me both outstanding academic and athletic opportunities. The team’s culture, spirit, and coaching staff are truly incredible. I cannot wait for the next four years! Go Eagles!”
Her best times include:
- 100 back – 57.98
- 200 back – 2:01.19
- 100 free – 51.93
- 100 fly – 57.13
- 400 IM – 4:29.48
King will make an immediate impact when she suits up for the Eagles as a member of the class of 2023. Her best 200 back time would’ve ranked first on their lineup last season and she’ll add depth to a training group that includes Grace Edwards and Maura Grimes.
