NEW COMMIT: Boston College has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Andrew Blusiewicz of Potomac Falls, Va.

He will arrive in Chestnut Hill as a member of the Eagles’ class of 2025 along with Will McKinney and Kenneth Thien.

He told Swimming World:

“I am excited to announce my commitment to continue my studies and to swim at Boston College. I am looking forward to joining Coach Stephens and the team next fall. I can’t wait to get to Boston and get started.”

A talented IMer and breaststroker, Blusiewicz trains year-round with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and most recently earned bronze in the 200 breast at Potomac Valley Seniors in March. He was the runner-up in the 400 IM at the NCAP Invitational in December where he also took fifth in both the 200 breast and 200 IM.

Last summer, he recorded six lifetime bests at Potomac Valley LCM Seniors before going on to place 12th in the 200m breast at NCSAs.

His best times include:

  • 200 IM – 1:51.34
  • 400 IM – 3:57.52
  • 100 breast – 57.22
  • 200 breast – 2:02.80

Also competing for Dominion High School, Blusiewicz is a six-time Virginia Class 4A State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 200 IM and was the runner-up in the 100 breast as a junior while taking third and second, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season.

Blusiewicz will make an immediate impact when he arrives on campus in the fall of 2021. His best time in the 400 IM would’ve ranked first on the Eagles’ lineup last year, while he would’ve been their second-fastest performer in both the 200 breast and 200 IM.
