Bolzano International Swim Meet Day Two Race Videos
BOLZANO – The second day of race videos are now up for the Bolzano International Swim Meet. This is the third year that Swimming World has partnered with the Bolzano International Swim Meet to bring you exclusive on-demand footage from the exciting meet.
Men’s 50 free
Marco Orsi had a strong day, moving to fifth in the world in the 50 free, as the highlight swim of day two at the Bolzano International Swim Meet. Orsi took down the men’s 50-meter free title in 21.23. That swim jumped him to fifth in the world rankings. Steffen Deibler, who posted a 21.34 at the Beijing stop of the FINA World Cup, cruised into second in 21.92 with Ryan Lochte picking up third in 22.11. Unfortunately, local celebrity Federico “King Shark” Bocchia false started in the 50 free.
Women’s 50 free
Natalie Coughlin threw down a 24.46 to top the women’s 50-meter freestyle today, while Madison Kennedy turned in a 24.78 for second. Erika Ferraioli wound up third in 24.82.
Men’s 100 fly
Steffen Deibler, who stands third in the world with a 49.33 from the Dubai stop of the FINA World Cup, cruised to victory in the men’s 100-meter fly with a 50.89. Lochte checked in with another podium finish as he clocked a 51.49 for second. Markus Deibler snared third in 52.71.
Women’s 100 fly
Elena Di Liddo won the women’s 100-meter fly in 58.34 with Silvia Di Pietro touching second in 58.37. Georgia Barton claimed third in 59.69.
Men’s 100 breast
Fabio Scozzoli, who has a seventh-ranked 57.40 from the Dubai stop of the FINA World Cup, topped the 100-meter breast today in 58.73. Markus Deibler placed second overall in 59.87 with Eduardo Giorgetti claiming third in 1:00.10. Brad Craig (1:00.19) and Lochte (1:00.37) also competed.
Women’s 100 breast
Katie Meili, who doubled up yesterday, won the 100-meter breast today in 1:05.87. That’s about a second off her fifth-ranked 1:05.01 from the Tokyo stop of the FINA World Cup. Molly Hannis checked in second with a 1:06.52, while Ilaria Scarcella placed third in 1:07.87.
Men’s 50 back
Arkady Vyatchanin topped the men’s 50-meter back in 24.30 with Niccolo Bonacchi taking second in 24.38. Giuseppe Ronci claimed third in 24.92.
Women’s 50 back
Elena Gemo picked up the women’s 50-meter back win in 27.90. Laura Letrari took second in 27.96 with Erika Ferraioli earning third in 28.06.
