Bolles School’s Liam Carrington Selects NC State For 2026
NEW COMMIT: NC State University has scored a new verbal commitment for its Class of 2026 from Junior National finalist Liam Carrington of Jacksonville, Florida.
He will join Sam Marsteiner in Raleigh as a member of the Wolfpack’s Class of 2030.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am honoured to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at North Carolina State University. I would like to thank God, my family, my coaches and teammates for helping me on this journey. I also would like to thank the NC State coaches for giving me this amazing opportunity. GO WOLFPACK!!!!”
Carrington does his club swimming with Bolles School Sharks and most recently competed at Juniors East where he took ninth in the 200 free, 15th in the 200 back and 17th in the 200 IM.
He also represents Trinidad & Tobago internationally. Carrington has won many events at the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships and CARIFTA Swimming Championships. He recently won four gold medals at the XXXVI CCCAN Championship this past June in the 50m back, 50m free, 100m back and 200m IM.
His best times include:
- 100 back – 48.51
- 200 back – 1:46.85
- 200 IM – 1:47.16
- 100 free – 45.82
- 200 free – 1:36.40
Currently a junior at Bolles School, Carrington won both the 100 back and 200 IM at the Florida 1A State Championships this past November. He took fourth in the 100 back at the state meet during his sophomore season.
NC State won its third straight ACC title in 2024.
