Blue Devils Snag Verbal from YMCA National Bronze Medallist Jack Christian for Fall 2021
NEW COMMIT: Audubon, Penn. native Jack Christian has elected to attend Duke University and will suit up for the Blue Devils as a member of the class of 2025.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Duke University! So incredibly grateful for my parents, teachers, and coaches that have led me to this point. Can’t wait to be a Blue Devil!”
Christian, who owns the U.S. Open cut in the 100 back with the Juniors standard in the 200 back, does his club swimming with the Upper Main Line YMCA. He earned a best time at Juniors East in December and placed 13th in the 100 back at the 2019 YMCA SCY Nationals. Last summer, he earned bronze in the 100m back and took fourth in the 50m back at YMCA LCM Nationals.
His best times include:
- 50 back – 23.42
- 100 back – 49.76
- 200 back – 1:49.90
Also competing for Episcopal Academy, Christian is a six-time Eastern Interscholastic Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American raced to fourth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 back as a junior while taking sixth in the 200 IM and seventh in the 100 back during his sophomore season.
