Big Ten Weekly Honors: Wisconsin Swimmers Lead Honorees

The Big Ten Conference has announced this week’s Men’s Swimmer, Diver, and Freshman of the Week for the week ending Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Big Ten Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Dominik Mark Torok, Wisconsin
So. – Budapest, Hungary – Ferencvarosi Sport Altalanos Iskola Es Gimnazium

  • Claimed three wins in the Badgers’ season debut
  • Posted winning efforts in the 200 Breast (1:58.0), 200 Fly (1:45.14) and 200 IM (1:48.25)
  • Garners his first career Swimmer of the Week award.
  • Last Wisconsin Swimmer of the Week: Ben Weingand (Feb. 8, 2023)

 

Big Ten Men’s Diver of the Week
YuTong Wang, Minnesota
Fr. – Beijing, China – Beijing Diving Club

  • Swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events in his collegiate debut
  • Scores of 379.15 (1-Meter) and 433.30 (3-Meter) achieved NCAA Zone Qualifying scores.
  • Garners his first Diver of the Week award
  • Last Minnesota Diver of the Week: Drew Bennett (Jan. 11, 2023)

 

Big Ten Men’s Freshman of the Week
Davide Harabagiu, Minnesota
Rome, Italy – Canottieri Tevere Remo

  • Scored a pair of individual wins and two relay victories in his collegiate debut
  • Won the 100 Free and 100 Back in 45.08 and 48.52, respectively
  • Assisted in the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week honor
  • Last Minnesota Freshman of the Week: Drew Bennett (Jan. 11, 2023)

Abby Carlson, Wisconsin
Jr. – Waukesha, Wis. – Waukesha South

  • Placed first in the 200 free with an NCAA B time of 1:46.82
  • Placed first in the 500 free with an NCAA B time of 4:46.14
  • Reigning 2023 Big Ten Champion in the 500 free
  • Earns her first career Swimmer of the Week award
  • Last Wisconsin Big Ten Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Mallory Jump (Feb. 8, 2023)

Big Ten Women’s Diver of the Week
Skyler Liu, Indiana
Jr. – Guangxi, China – Qinzhou No. 3

  • Placed first in the 1-meter event with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 301.88
  • Placed first in the 3-meter event with an NCAA zone qualifying score of 303.30
  • Earns her first career Diver of the Week award
  • Last Indiana Big Ten Women’s Diver of the Week: Anne Fowler (Feb. 1, 2023)

Big Ten Women’s Freshman of the Week
Elysha Pribadi, Rutgers

  • Placed first in 200 IM (2:04.80)
  • Placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.37)
  • Placed fourth in the 100 fly (56.89)
  • Placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.98)
  • Earns her first career Freshman of the Week award
