Berry College Picks Up Verbal From Freestyler Julia Oliver
NEW COMMIT: Chesapeake, Va. native Julia Oliver has announced her verbal intention to Berry College beginning in the fall of 2019.
Berry does her club swimming with East Coast Aquatic Team and capped off her long course season with a trio of lifetime bests at the Virginia LCM Senior Championships and raced five events at the yards version of the meet in March. A school record-holder at Oscar Smith, Oliver has competed in the 200 free and 100 breast at the Virginia 6A State Championships each of her three high school seasons so far.
She told Swimming World:
“I am very pleased to announce my commitment to berry. I am absolutely thrilled to be apart of such a fantastic team and coaching staff! Thank you to all my coaches and family for supporting me throughout my life! Go Vikings!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 25.36
- 100 free – 55.55
- 200 free – 1:59.26
Oliver will make an immediate impact when she suits up for the Vikings as a member of the class of 2023. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 50, 100 and 200 freestyles at the 2018 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships where Berry placed third overall in the team standings.
