Bellingham Bay Swim Team’s Evan Trout Announces Verbal Commitment to Fordham University
NEW COMMITS: Bellingham, Wash. native Evan Trout has announced his verbal commitment to Fordham University and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2021.
He told Swimming World:
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career swimming at Fordham University in NYC! I want to thank my coaches, friends, and family for supporting me through this process. Go Rams!”
A talented freestyler, Trout swims year-round with Bellingham Bay Swim Team and placed ninth in the 500 free and 10th in the mile at Pacific Northwest Seniors in December. Last summer, he earned three best times at Mount Hood Futures before going on to take 18th in the 1500m free at Pacific Northwest LCM Seniors.
His best times include:
- 200 free – 1:46.58
- 500 free – 4:41.33
- 1650 free – 16:37.70
Trout is currently a senior at Bellingham High School where he holds a 3.75 GPA.
He will be a valuable asset to the Rams’ lineup when he suits up for them as a member of the class of 2025. He will join a training group that’ll include Ethan Murray and Spencer Clarke, and he would’ve been Fordham’s third-fastest miler last season.
