Baywatch Stars In Swimming Competition With University of Hawaii Coaches
Honolulu, HI – The unbeaten UH Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams host their first home meets Friday and Saturday, November 12 and 13 at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. On Friday, November 12, the Bows meet UC Irvine in a 4pm meet and on Saturday morning at 9am, Cal State University – Northridge.
The Rainbows go into the meet with a 6-0 record, the men at 5-0. Both were the only undefeated teams following last week’s Big West Shootout at Irvine, California. The Wahine won twice over Washington and once over UC Santa Barbara, Pacific, Northern Arizona and UNLV. The men’s team bested Washington twice and once each — UNLV, UC Santa Barbara, and Pacific.
During this Friday’s meet, members of the Baywatch cast and UH coaching staff will meet in a 100 freestyle mixed relay event. Baywatch competitors include Brooke Burns, Stacy Kamano, Michael Newman and the show’s producer, Greg Bonham. They will be swimming against: Assistant Water Polo coach Cindy Rhode, Academic Advisor Kaya Hedlund, football Offensive Line coach Mike Cavanagh and Defensive secondary coach Rich Miano. Greg Bonham is a daily workout swimmer at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.
Admission to the UH Swimming and Diving events is free.
