Montana Lloyd has given her verbal commitment to the University of Houston.
Lloyd told Swimming World,
“I knew from the second I stepped on campus that this is where I belonged. The atmosphere of the team is something really special and the college itself is somewhere I can see myself improving and gaining knowledge not only in the classroom, but in the pool! I’m so excited to be apart of the Cougar family! GO COOGS!”
Lloyd swims for Desert Storm Swimming. She is a backstroker and IMer.
Her lifetime best times are:
50 Backstroke 26.90
100 Backstroke 56.03
200 Backstroke 2:00.79
200 IM 2:04.84
400 IM 4:28.01
Houston finished third at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship. Lloyd would have been a B finalist in both backstrokes and the 200 IM at last year’s meet. Eleanna Koutsouveli won the 100 backstroke with a 54.32 in her freshman year. The then junior will be an immediate training partner for Lloyd when she arrives in Texas next fall.
Lloyd is the second swimmer to commit to the Cougars after Mykenzie Leehy gave her verbal last week. Leehy is set to make an impact on the freestyle relays.
