Backstroker Kacey McKenna of North Baltimore Aquatic Club Sends Verbal to Indiana
NEW COMMIT: Backstroker Kacey McKenna of Baltimore, Md. has announced her verbal commitment to Indiana University and will join the Hoosiers’ as a member of the class of 2025.
She will join Katie Carson, Aislinn Holder, Emma Shaughnessy, Sydney Turner, Brearna Crawford, Kabria Chapman, Elyse Heiser, Anna Peoplowski and Mariah Denigan in Bloomington at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Indiana University!! I love IU’s team culture and fast swimming. The second I talked to the coaches, I knew it was the school for me. I can’t wait to be part of the team, go Hoosiers!!”
Her best times include:
- 50 back – 26.38
- 100 back – 54.37
- 200 back – 2:00.59
- 200 IM – 2:06.10
- 400 IM – 4:29.95
A Junior National qualifier, McKenna swims year-round with the legendary North Baltimore Aquatic Club. At the NBAC Christimas Invitational in December, she won the 100 back, placed second in the 100 fly, and raced to third in the 200 free. Last summer, she recorded two best times at Junior Nationals.
She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors twice in her career thus far.
