Backstroker/IMer Tori Abruzzo Lends 2025 Verbal to Gamecocks

NEW COMMIT: The University of South Carolina has secured a big verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from Tori Abruzzo of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.

Her older brother, Andrew Abruzzo, graduated from Georgia in 2022 while her older sister, Mia Abruzzo, is a junior with the Bulldogs.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to this point. Go cocks!!”

Abruzzo does her club swimming with Plymouth Whitemarsh Aquatic Club and had five top-5 finishes at Eastern Zone Seniors this past summer after earning silver in the 400m IM at Middle Atlantic Senior Championships. She won the 400 IM and finished second in both the 100 back and 200 fly at the NBAC Christmas Invitational last December.

400 IM – 4:17.38
50 back – 26.01
100 back – 54.02
200 back – 1:55.98
200 fly – 2:00.06
100 fly – 54.73
200 breast – 2:21.12

Currently a junior at Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, Abruzzo won the 200 IM and 500 free at the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championship last season. She placed second in the 100 back and third in the 100 fly during her freshman season.
