Australian Olympic Silver Medalist Scott Miller Arrested
SYDNEY, Australia, April 17. ACCORDING to an article in the Herald Sun, Australian Olympic silver medalist Scott Miller has been arrested for allegedly being part of "a huge drug production syndicate."
As stated in the report by Saffron Howden and Kara Lawrence, "Miller has been charged with possession of a tablet press, two counts of possessing a proscribed restricted substance and possessing an offensive weapon."
Miller claimed silver at the 1996 Atlanta Games in the 100 fly, and also took bronze in the 400 medley relay. Miller had broken the Olympic record in 100 fly during prelims with a 52.89, but fell to Russian Denis Pankratov in finals. Pankratov utilized a long underwater breakout to the 35-meter mark to jump out to an early lead. He then held on to win with a then-world record 52.27. Miller settled for second with a 52.53.
