ASU Diving Inks Canadian Olympian

TEMPE, Arizona, June 4. CANADIAN Olympian Riley McCormick has signed a letter of intent to study and compete at Arizona State University, head diving coach Mark Bradshaw announced. With his strength being on platform, McCormick will join Cameron Bradshaw, Chris Pasanella and Austrian Olympian Constantin Blaha on the ASU men's diving team.

"Riley is the top male diving prospect of 2009 and I'm absolutely thrilled to have him as our newest Sun Devil," said Bradshaw. "Riley brings a wealth of talent and experience to the diving program. He will no doubt be a force within the Pac-10 conference as well as contend for individual titles in the platform event year in and year out."

McCormick placed 16th on the platform at the 2008 Olympic Games, narrowly missing the finals. At the Winter Senior National Games in Calgary, Alberta, McCormick took home gold medal honors after earning the silver medals the pervious year. McCormick also garnered a silver medal at the Pan Am Jr. Championships.

McCormick is the fourth Olympian Bradshaw has recruited to compete at ASU. Bradshaw's other Olympians include former ASU star Joona Puhakka and current divers Blaha and Elina Eggers.
