ASCA and INSIDE WITH BRETT HAWKE Partner to Create Podcasts of Decades-Old Talks by Swimming’
The American Swimming Coaches Association and the “Inside with Brett Hawke” podcast are working together to bring the rich history and knowledge of swimming’s greatest coaches to life for a new generation. Many of the renowned talks from the 1970s through 2000s only exist in transcript form on dusty shelves or in the ASCA library. But now, through innovative technology, the audio of the talks will be recreated and made available via the “Inside with Brett Hawke” podcast.
Inside With Brett Hawke,” the premiere podcast for the swimming community, is well known for taking an intimate look inside the minds of swimming’s highest achievers. This partnership will help bring ASCA’s vast library of educational resources to the podcast’s audience and ASCA members in an easy-to-consume format.
“So much knowledge and wisdom exist in the talks in ASCA’s archives. The younger generation of coaches has probably never even heard of coaches like George Haines, Don Gambril or even Doc Counsilman. I’m so excited that we are providing an easy, modern way for us all to hear from the greats of our sport,” said ASCA CEO Jennifer LaMont.
“There’s a tremendous amount to be learned from these historical ASCA talks, across a variety of subjects, from technical aspects to business acumen. The more things change, the more things stay the same. Transforming these talks is good for coaches all over the world,” said Olympic coach and podcast host Brett Hawke.
The first release in this new series features Doc Counsilman’s famous X Factor Talk.
Stay tuned! More talks by famous coaches will be released regularly in the This Week at ASCA newsletter and on Brett Hawke’s podcast.
Super excited to see this happening! I will be ‘tuning in.’
