NEW COMMIT: Las Vegas, Nevada native Brice Barrieault has announced his verbal commitment to Army West Point’s class of 2026 and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2022.

He told Swimming World:

“I am ecstatic to announce my verbal commitment to Army West Point. I am very fortunate to have the support of my friends, family, and coaches. I look forward to all the opportunities that West Point will open for me. Go Army!”

A talented distance freestyler, Barrieault does his club swimming with Sandpipers of Nevada and is the owner of five Junior National standards. He most recently picked up a best time in the 100m free at the Intrasquad meet earlier this month after recording four lifetime bests at TYR Desert Committee Championships in February.

His best times include:

  • 200 free – 1:41.72
  • 500 free – 4:30.40
  • 1000 free – 9:12.22
  • 1650 free – 15:24.38
  • 200 fly – 1:51.48

Last summer, he recorded seven top-8 finishes at the Firecracker Invitational in July before going on to collect three gold medals at the Desert Invitational in August. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American also won the 1000 free and the mile at Arizona Seniors in March 2019.

Even with just under two years to go before suiting up for the Black Knights at the start of the 2022-23 season, Barrieault will make a big impact as his best times already rank near the top of their lineup. He would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 fly and 500 free and placed fourth overall in the mile at the 2020 Patriot League Championships where Army finished second overall in the team standings.
