Army West Point Gets Early 2025 Verbal Commitment From Elle Burke
NEW COMMIT: Houston, Texas native and Futures qualifier Elle Burke has announced her verbal commitment to Army West Point beginning in Fall 2025.
She’s one of the first to publicly announce her college choice for the Class of 2029, and this is the second year in a row Army has snagged an early verbal pledge.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the United States Military Academy!! I am so thankful for my family, friends and teammates for their support. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve my country. GO ARMY. BEAT NAVY!!”
Burke trains year-round with Dads Swim Club and most recently earned three best times at NCSA Championships this past summer. Back in March, she finished 16th in the 100 back and 22nd in the 200 back at College Station Sectionals.
Her best times include:
- 100 free – 52.93
- 200 free – 1:50.39
- 500 free – 5:00.07
- 50 back – 26.96
- 100 back – 56.96
- 200 back – 2:03.59
- 200 IM – 2:07.66
Currently a junior at Dads Swim Club, Burke placed 15th in the 500 free at the 2023 Texas UIL 6A State Championship. She took second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free at the UIL Region 5-6A Championship during her sophomore season, too.
Under head coach Brandt Nigro, the Black Knights finished second at the 2023 Patriot League Championships.
