Army West Point Collects 2025 Verbal Commitment From Amelia Lester
NEW COMMIT: Rockwall, Texas native and Futures qualifier Amelia Lester has announced her verbal commitment to Army West Point beginning in Fall 2025.
She will join fellow Lone Star State native Elle Burke as a member of the Black Knights’ Class of 2029.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the United States Military Academy. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given, and for all the people who have helped me along the way(love you mom). I can’t wait to be apart of the long gray line. GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!”
Lester does her club swimming with City of Richardson Swim Team and earned give best times at NCSA Long Course Championships this past summer where her highest finish was an eighth-place showing in the 200m fly.
Her best times include:
- 200 free – 1:52.55
- 500 free – 4:58.40
- 1000 free – 10:13.81
- 1650 free – 17:10.66
- 200 fly – 2:03.13
Currently a junior at Heath High School, Lester finished 13th in the 500 free at the 2023 Texas UIL 6A State Championships. She placed third in both the 200 free and 500 free at the UIL Region 3-6A Championships, too.
Under head coach Brandt Nigro, the Black Knights finished second at the 2023 Patriot League Championships.
