Army Secures Big 2024 Verbal Pledge From Angie McKane
NEW COMMIT: The United States Military Academy has received a big verbal commitment for the 2024-25 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Angie McKane of Corning, New York.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m beyond honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to the United States Military Academy!! I would not be here without the endless support my family and coaches have given me. GO ARMY!!”
McKane does her club swimming with CPP River Hawks and last competed at Ithaca Sectionals back in March where she earned seven best times. There, she won the 100 fly and was the runner-up in the 100 back while placing third in the 100 breast.
She also raced at Juniors East last December, finishing 17th in the 100 fly.
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 53.92
- 100 back – 54.56
- 50 free – 23.15
- 100 free – 51.01
- 100 breast – 1:03.03
Currently a junior at Corning Painted Post High School, McKane won the 50 free and placed second in the 100 fly at the New York Federation Championship. She finished fifth and second, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
McKane is a huge pickup for Army, as her best times in the 100 fly and 50 free would’ve ranked second on its lineup last season, while she would’ve had the fastest 100 back time on the team.
