Arizona State Star Jonny Kulow Discusses Rising Career and Training on Social Kick Podcast (Video)
Jonny Kulow is a rising star on the American sprint scene, and a key cog in Arizona State University’s march to last year’s NCAA team title. Working with ASU head coach Herbie Behm, Kulow is expected to be among the top finishers in the 50 and 100 freestyles at the 2025 NCAA Champs and should make a run at a berth on the Team USA squad which will head to this summer’s World Championships in Singapore.
Recently, Kulow joined the Social Kick Podcast to discuss his career with hosts John Mullen and Bryan Lundquist (fellow host Luke Paddington will be back for future episodes). One of the topics covered during Kulow’s interview was his ascent from Wyoming, not exactly known as a swimming hotbed. Additionally, Kulow discussed his training with Behm and some of the work that has enabled Kulow to drop significant chunks of time since arriving in the desert as a freshman.
At last summer’s United States Olympic Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Kulow was part of a memorable storyline. After tying for eighth with pal Adam Cheney in the semifinals of the 50 freestyle, Kulow and Cheney tied in their swimoff, necessitating another showdown for the final spot in the championship heat. In the second swimoff, Cheney edged Kulow, who discussed the saga in his Social Kick sitdown.
Swimming World is thrilled to partner with the Social Kick Podcast to provide fans around the world with superb interviews with some of the sport’s biggest names.
