Another Canadian Swimmer Injured; Sloan Improving
One of Canada’s top Olympic hopefuls, breaststroker Jen Noddle, was injured in warmups on the opening night of Pac-10 Championships last week.
Noddle, a freshman at UCLA, was turning from back to breast and jammed her arm, dislocating her shoulder. She would have scored in three finals.
It is unclear whether Noddle will be able to swim at the NCAA Championships next week or at the Canadian Olympic Trials.
Meanwhile, Swiminfo learned that five-time Canadian national champion, Tara Sloan, who was seriously injured in an auto accident near Calgary on Saturday, is improving, but will have no chance of making the Canadian Olympic team.
Fred Sloan, her dad, said today that her two most serious injuries–a swollen brain and bruised lungs–are showing improvement.
