An Invitation to Celebrate Olympian and Organ Donor Crissy Perham!
As an Olympian, Crissy Perham (Ahmann-Leighton) registered a plethora of elite performances during her career. But her greatest mark – a lifesaving one – arrived last year, when Perham donated a kidney to Dick Franklin, the father of Olympic champion Missy Franklin. The selfless act not only saved the life of Mr. Franklin, it cast a much-needed spotlight on the importance of organ donation.
Now, the Franklin family is preparing to celebrate the beauty of Perham’s gesture, and the wonder of Perham as a person. Below is a letter from the Franklin family about a special event on the horizon.

As many of you know, the Franklin family has been extremely fortunate and grateful for the miracle of organ transplantation, and we are excited to share an upcoming event with you that is very important to us, something that you can help with to achieve similar outcomes for additional transplant patients, donors, and their families nationwide.
We invite you to participate in the American Transplant Foundation’s annual fundraiser, Trivia For Life, an interactive evening of team trivia, games, exciting networking, and many other surprises! This year’s theme is “Going For The Gold,” and it is a special privilege to share that former Olympic athlete Crissy Perham will be honored at the event in recognition of her incredible gift of a kidney that saved Dick’s life just under a year ago.
Please consider attending the event to celebrate this Gift Of Life that was given to our family, and support the American Transplant Foundation, which we have found to be an amazing resource for our entire family throughout our transplant journey.
The event will be a memorable gathering of friends and community, and most importantly, together, we will make a real difference for hundreds of families who come to the American Transplant Foundation for lifesaving help.
