From USA Today: 1996 4-time Olympic gold medalist, Amy Van Dyken, went back to her old elementary school in Colorado to start a national program in order to help elementary schools raise money for computers, library books, and other much-needed items. Sponsored by General Mills Inc, The Box Tops For Education program could earn as much as $10,000 in cash for participating schools. General Mills will pay schools 15 cents for every box top collected and mailed in. All accredited K-6 public, private, parochial, or military schools in the U.S. are eligible for this program, which will end in March 31, 1997.
