NEW COMMIT: Stanford University is putting together another wildly impressive recruiting class. The defending NCAA Champions have added a verbal commitment from sprinter Amalie Fackenthal. The Cardinal Class of 2022 now has verbal commitments from Allie Raab, Anya Goeders, Taylor Ruck, and Zoe Bartel.
Fackenthal, a rising senior at Sacramento Day School, is a two time defending California high school state champion. She won both the 50 and 100 freestyle events this year. She’s a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American who trains with the Davis Aquadarts Racing Team.
Fackenthal could be a key sprint piece for Stanford, with range from freestyle to butterfly. Her top times are:

- 200 Free 1:49.10
- 50 Fly 24.24
- 100 Fly 52.78
In her announcement made on Twitter she wrote,
“I’m incredibly blessed and excited to announce my commitment to swim and study at Stanford University!! Class of 2022”
