The University of Denver has added a second verbal commitment in the young week. Scottsdale Aquatic Club’s Ally Yancy has given her verbal commitment to the Pios.
Yancy told Swimming World,
“I chose the University of Denver because of their strengths academically and athletically. Not only would DU set me up for success in the pool, but also in the classroom. The University of Denver also has such a great support system between the team and the coaches.”
The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American is a senior at Pinnacle High School.
Yancy’s best times are:
- 100 Breast: 1:02.62
- 200 Breast: 2:16.15
- 200 IM: 2:04.27
Canada’s Emily Vandenberg also gave her commitment to Denver yesterday. Both new commits are breaststrokers. Yancy has been faster than Vandenberg’s converted bests, making her an even bigger point scorer for the reigning Summit League Conference champions. With her bests, Vandenberg would have been runner up in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 100 at last year’s conference meet. She would also be an A finalist in the 200 IM.
