Alabama Snags 2026 Verbal From Nevada State Champ Addison Sala
NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Addison Sala of Reno, Nevada, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Alabama beginning in Fall 2026.
She will join Georgia Wimberly in Tuscaloosa as a member of the Crimson Tide’s Class of 2030.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m thrilled to announce my commitment to swim and study at the University of Alabama!! I’d like to thank my family and coaches for supporting me throughout this journey. This little girls dream has come true. On to the next chapter! Roll Tide Roll!”
A versatile swimmer, Sala does her club swimming with Lakeridge Swim Team. She won six events at Nevada State Championships back in November.
This past summer, she won the 400m IM at Fullerton Sectionals where she also took sixth in the 200m back, ninth in the 400m free, 10th in the 200m IM and 800m free, and 15th in the 100m back.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:03.07
- 400 IM – 4:18.80
- 100 back – 56.64
- 200 back – 1:59.68
- 100 free – 53.00
- 200 free – 1:50.73
- 500 free – 4:55.71
- 1000 free – 10:15.39
Currently a junior at Reno High School, Sala won the 200 IM and was the runner-up in the 500 free at the 2024 Nevada 5A State Championships. She won the 200 IM and 500 free at the 3A State Championships as a freshman in 2023.
