Alabama Scores 2026 Verbal Pledge From Georgia Wimberly
NEW COMMIT: The University has Alabama has picked up a verbal commitment for the 2026-27 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier Georgia Wimberly of Prosper, Texas.
Her older brother, Jacob Wimberly, is a freshman at Texas A&M.
She told Swimming World:
“I am extremely excited and humbled to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at The University of Alabama. I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for endlessly supporting me throughout my career. I would also like to thank the Alabama coaching staff for giving me this opportunity. Most of all, I would like to thank God for guiding me throughout this whole journey. The best is yet to come!! ROLL TIDE”
Primarily a backstroker, Wimberly does her club swimming with Lakeside Aquatic Club. She capped off her summer season at the LAC Summer Senior Showdown where she won the 20om back and earned five best times. Back in March, she finaled in three events at Lewisville Sectionals.
Her best times include:
- 100 back – 57.37
- 200 back – 1:59.02
- 400 IM – 4:24.49
- 200 free – 1:51.88
Currently a junior at Prosper High School, Wimberly placed 14th in the 100 back at the 2023 Texas UIL 6A State Championships during her freshman season.
