NEW COMMIT: Waxhaw, North Carolina native Paige Thome will head to Tuscaloosa in Fall 2024 as she has verbally committed to the University of Alabama.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Alabama. Thank you to my friends, family, and coaches who have helped get me to this point. ROLL TIDE!”
Thome trains year-r0und with SwimMAC Carolina and most recently placed sixth in the 200 fly and seventh in the 400 IM at North Carolina Seniors last month. She earned three best times at Juniors East back in December and finaled in the 400m IM at Cary Futures last summer.
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:04.18
- 200 breast – 2:17.59
- 100 fly – 56.31
- 200 fly – 2:02.59
- 200 IM – 2:03.27
- 400 IM – 4:20.52
Currently a junior at Cuthbertson High School, Thome finished 15th in the 100 fly at the 2023 North Carolina 4A State Championships. As a sophomore, she aced to fifth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 fly. She’s also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
She will join Lexi Stephens and Marie Landreneau in Tuscaloosa at the start of the 2024-25 season.
