Alabama Adds Another Class of 2026 Verbal from Texas Sprinter Ana Fleming
NEW COMMIT: The University of Alabama has continued forming a stellar recruiting class for the fall of 2022 after receiving a new verbal pledge from sprinter Anastasia “Ana” Fleming of Austin, Texas.
She will join Laci Black, Mackenzie Brandt, Kylee Grafmiller and Stella Grace Watts in Tuscaloosa as a member of Bama’s Class of 2026.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am SO SO SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue swimming at the University of Alabama. I am so thankful to my coaches, teammates, family, and friends for helping me reach this decision and giving me nonstop support. I CANNOT wait to represent Bama!!! ROLL TIDE”
Fleming does her club swimming with Western Hills Athletic Club and placed seventh in the 100m free and 12th in the 50m free at College Station Sectionals in February. In Summer 2019, she sprinted to 10th in the 50m free and 15th in the 100m free at Austin Sectionals before going on to race both of those events at Junior Nationals.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.06
- 100 free – 50.39
- 200 free – 1:50.47
- 100 fly – 55.57
- 200 fly – 2:03.23
When she arrives in Tuscaloosa at the start of the 2022-23 season, Fleming will join a program led by Coley Stickels that knows how to produce top sprint talent. She will also add her talents to a training group that’ll include Kailyn Winter and Krista Wheeler.
