Aidan Shaw Selects Rhodes College With SAA Championship A-Final Worthy Times
NEW COMMIT: Rhodes College has received a new verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from in-state swimmer Aidan Shaw of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He told Swimming World:
“I can’t wait to continue swimming and studying at Rhodes College next year.”
Shaw, who trains year-round with Baylor Swim Club, most recently earned best times in all of his events at the Southeastern Long Course Championships this past summer. He also raced six events at the Southeastern Short Course Championships back in February after recording four top-5 finishes at the 18&U Winter Championships – Chattanooga last December.
His best times include:
- 100 fly – 52.25
- 50 free – 23.17
- 100 free – 48.95
- 200 free – 1:49.40
Also competing for the Baylor School, Shaw finished 13th in the 100 fly and 21st in the 100 free as a junior at the TISCA State Championships.
Shaw will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when he arrives in Memphis as a member of the Class of 2023, as his best time in the 100 fly would’ve scored in the A-final at the 2021 Southern Athletic Association Championships where the Lynx finished fourth overall.
