Aggies Keep Breaststroker Daniel King In-State For 2025
NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M University has received a new in-state verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from Junior National qualifier Daniel King of San Antonio.
He will join Bucky Gettys as a member of the Aggies’ Class of 2029.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am blessed to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University. I’d like to thank God, my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to where I am today and allowing me to have this amazing opportunity. GIG’EM!!”
A breaststroker and IMer, King does his club swimming with Alamo Area Aquatics Association and most recently competed at Juniors West last month. He placed third in the 100m breast and fourth in the 200m breast at Austin Sectionals last summer.
His best times include:
- 100 breast – 55.57
- 200 breast – 2:00.37
- 200 IM – 1:55.07
- 400 IM – 4:01.06
Currently a junior in high school, King currently attends school online after spending his first two years at Basis Shavano. He is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
