Aggies Bring In 2021 Verbal from Lebanese National Record Holder Munzy Kabbara
NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M has earned their second early verbal commitment for the class of 2025 from Munzy Kabbara of Houston, Texas, who will join fellow in-state standout Tyler Hulet in College Station at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Kabbara is a member of the Lebanese National Team and is a five-time national record holder. While representing Lebanon, he raced both IMs at the 18th FINA World Championships this past summer and competed at the World SCM Championships in December. He also raced five events at the 7th FINA World Junior Championships in 2017.
In SCY, his best times include:
- 200 IM – 1:51.31
- 400 IM – 3:53.68
- 200 fly – 1:50.37
In LCM, his best times include:
- 200m IM – 2:05.48
- 400m IM – 4:28.83
- 200m fly – 2:05.91
Kabbara swims year-round with Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club and earned silver in the 400m IM and bronze in the 200m IM at Des Moines Futures in August. Last winter, he was the runner-up in both IMs at College Station Sectionals. A current junior at Cypress Woods High School, the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American competed at the Texas 6A State Championships during his sophomore season.
