After Iowa Program Cut, Noelle Harvey Changes Verbal Commitment to Washington State
NEW COMMIT: After originally committing to the University of Iowa, Noelle Harvey of San Marcos, Calif. has announced her verbal pledge to Washington State University after the Hawkeyes cut their program.
She will join Sophie Macy, Taylor Schababerle and Noelle Marsh in Pullman, Wash. at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am beyond excited to spend the next four years at WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY!! Thank you to my team, coach’s, and parents for the surplus of support throughout my swimming career so far. I can’t wait to study, train, and compete for WSU. GO COUGS ? ?❤️?❤️?”
Harvey, who owns three Winter Juniors standards, does her club swimming with North Coast Aquatics. She recorded six top-6 finishes at East LA Sectionals in December before going on to earn six lifetime bests at Carlsbad Sectionals in March.
Last summer, she finished fourth in the 200m back and fifth in the 100m back at Mount Hood Futures. In 2018, she earned two best times at Juniors West and placed seventh in the 500 free at Carlsbad Sectionals.
Her best times include:

- 100 free- 50.78
- 200 free- 1:50.15
- 500 free- 4:50.34
- 100 back- 55.66
- 200 back- 1:59.48
A current senior at La Costa Canyon High School, Harvey placed 10th in the 100 back and 11th in the 100 free at the CIF State Championships during her sophomore season. As a freshman, she was the 500 free runner-up and grabbed bronze in the 200 free at the CIF San Diego Section 2 Championships.
