African Long Course Championships: Jessica Roux, Hadeil Mohamed Win Open Water 5K Meets

CASABLANCA, Morocco, September 20. THE African Championships came to a close with open water 5K swims on the final day yesterday.

South Africa's Jessica Roux won the women's race in 45:02.78, while Morocco's Sara El Bekri took second in 46:28.06. Algeria's Malya Mgehezzi Bakhouche finished third in 46:30.08.

Egypt's Hadeil Mohamed captured the men's title in 40:50.36. South Africa went 2-3 on the podium with Daniel Marais (40:51.31) and Abdul Malick Railoun (41:33.12) placing second and third.
