Adam Peaty has a little less than 24 hours to prepare for the 100 breast final at the FINA world championships. He’ll do some of the ordinary things that swimmers do to make sure he’s physically ready to race: eat right, get plenty of rest. But he’ll turn to an American comedy for a bit of mental relief.
“My (favorite) series at the moment is Two And A Half Men, believe it or not,” Peaty said. “I like to have a bit of a laugh and not get too anxious. I like to keep myself relaxed and do what I do at home.”

Peaty said that breaking his world record of 57.92 will happen mostly in the first 50 meters, where he said he’ll try to take out the race fast but controlled. He has faith that the training he’s put in will carry over to executing a successful race strategy in the final, where he’ll be in a rematch with Cameron Van Der Burgh almost a year after Peaty snatched gold at the Commonwealth Games.
Not a David Wilkie clone but a legit two event threat.
