How has he influenced the swimming community?
With a resume as extensive as Dale Neuburger’s, it’s hard to question his impact on the swimming community. Neuburger, post-Princeton, accepted his first job at the City of Syracuse School District overseeing aquatic instruction and played a role in building the first Olympic-size swimming pool at a U.S high school. He later moved on to manage IUPUI’s Natatorium, while also serving as part time executive director for College Swimming Coaches Association of America. Neuburger continued to work his way up to executive director of Indiana Sports Corporation, during which he brought three consecutive Olympic Trials (’92,’92,’00) to Indianapolis. In 2000, Neuburger began his tenure as Vice President of Fina, a position he still holds today. Dale Neuburger has served on almost every governing board of aquatic sports in the United States and continues to make contributions to the sport of swimming, as he has done all his life.
“It has been an honor to serve USA Swimming, an organization devoted to athletes reaching their full potential in and out of the pool. And, our sport has benefited greatly from the iconic Speedo brand. I appreciate this recognition from the flagship NGB in the US Olympic family and the innovative swimwear company that has supported athletes and coaches for so many years in achieving their dreams.” – Dale Neuburger
