#3 Texas Men’s Swimming and Diving Eases Past #20 Texas A&M, 132-102
From UT – COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – The No. 3 University of Texas men’s swimming and diving team downed No. 20 Texas A&M, 132-102, on Friday afternoon in College Station, Texas, to remain undefeated all-time against the Aggies in dual meets.
The Longhorn reserves provided numerous highlights, including sophomore Ricky Kovatch’s (Charlottesville, Va.) first dual-meet victory of the year in the 200yd freestyle (1:41.35). Kovatch also placed third in the 500yd freestyle (4:40.12). Other Texas winners were sophomore Jon Younghouse (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) with an NCAA consideration time in the 1,650yd freestyle (15:20.22), freshman Jamie Rauch (Houston, Texas) in the 200yd individual medley (1:53.40), freshman Grant Gritzmacher (Essex, Conn.) on the one-meter springboard (305.17), senior Neil Walker (Verona, Wis.) in the 100yd freestyle (44.18), senior Carlos Arena (Mexico City, Mexico) in the 100yd backstroke (48.98), and junior Ryan Harmon (San Antonio, Texas) on the three-meter springboard (354.29).
