Katie Ledecky qualified for her second individual event for Rio by winning the women’s 200 free. Her time of 1:54.88 is just off her world leading time of 1:54.43.
This will be her second Olympic Games after winning gold in the 800 free in London at 15 years old. Her win tonight is one step closer to a potentially historic schedule in August.
Ledecky won the 400 meter free earlier this week in a world-leading 3:58.98. She is also entered in the 50, 100, and 800 freestyle events in Omaha.
She talked to the media after her race about how she races the 200 and her excitement for Team USA’s 800 free relay.
