Pac-12 Women’s 200 Backstroke

The top qualifiers in the women’s 200 backstroke were near their seed times, and some were slightly slower. It could mean they all have plenty left in the tank for finals and we could see some big time drops. It should be a close race with at least the top three seeds as well.

Cal sophomore Isabelle Stadden took the top seed in 1:51.17, about a second slower than her best time.

Stanford junior Taylor Ruck took the second spot in 1:52.01, eight hundredths off of her season best time. Meanwhile, junior teammate Lucie Normann was about a second slower as well, touching the wall in 1:52.37.

Stanford got two more in the finals with Samantha Pearson taking the fourth seed (1:54.21) and Alex Crisera taking the sixth seed (1:54.41).

Pac-12 Women’s 100 Freestyle

Stanford freshman Torri Huske continues her stellar Pac-12 meet, taking the top seed in the 100 freestyle. Huske touched the wall in 47.64 just a couple of tenths off of her season best time.

Meanwhile, USC senior Laticia Transom took the second seed in 47.92, also a few tenths off her best time, and Cal senior Isabel Ivey took the third spot at 48.10, more than a half second off of her best time.

The way all three have performed so far in the meet, they could have plenty left in the tank for an extremely fast final.

The Pac-12 meet record is 46.35 set by Abbey Weitzeil in 2019 and that could be in danger before the night is over.

Pac-12 Women’s 200 Breaststroke

USC put four in the final and Stanford has two in the 200 breaststroke final.

USC fifth-year Calypso Sheridan, a graduate transfer, took the top seed in 2:08.79, more than a half second off of her best time, but enough to hold the top spot heading into finals.

Stanford senior Allie Raab took the second spot in 2:08.85, followed by fellow senior Brooke Forde (2:09.06).

USC senior Isabelle Odgers grabbed the fourth spot in 2:09.20, ahead of teammate Kaitlyn Dobler (2:09.64), who set the Pac-12 record in the 100 breaststroke on Friday.
