2022 NCAA Women’s Championships: Delaney Schnell Leads Sarah Bacon After 1-Meter Prelims

The 2022 NCAA Women’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships continued with prelims for 1-meter diving.
Through the preliminaries, Arizona junior Delaney Schnell holds the lead with 334.10 points.
Minnesota senior Sarah Bacon, who swept the NCAA championship on both boards last year, is in second place with 329.85 points.
Schnell is a 2020 U.S. Olympian in the platform and synchro platform diving. Last year, she was Pac-12 Diver of the year and runner-up on platform at the NCAA Championships. This year, she was Pac-12 champion on the 1-meter board and 3-meter board.
North Carolina’s Aranza Vasquez Montanto sits in third with 327.85, just ahead of Texas freshman Hailey Hernandez (316.20).
Indiana sophomore Tarrin Gilliland is in fifth with 314.00 points, followed by Florida junior Maha Amer (313.90), Duke freshman Margo O’Meara (312.95) and Miami junior Mia Vallee (309.75).
Former NCAA champion Brooke Schultz, of South Carolina, is the first alternate with 307.60 points.
