2022 NCAA Men’s Championships: Three Divers Within 3 Points of Lead Heading into Platform Finals
The 2022 NCAA Men’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championship completed its final preliminary event from the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, with the platform diving event.
Three divers were well above the field, but also within three points of each other heading into finals.
Miami senior Zach Cooper narrowly holds the top seed with 429.05 points.
Tennessee sophomore Bryden Hattie was just behind Cooper with a 428.00 score.
Meanwhile, Purdue freshman Tyler Downs was less than three points off the lead as well with 426.30 points.
Fellow Purdue freshman Jordan Rzepka sits fourth heading into the NCAA finals with a 379.80.
Ohio State senior Jacob Fielding sits fifth (365.70), followed by Florida junior Leonardo Garcia (362.70), Miami junior Maxwell Flory (361.95) and Ohio State junior Lyle Yost (358.45).
Indiana senior Andrew Capobianco, former NCAA champion, took the ninth spot with 350.75 and missed the finals.
