The Texas men’s swim team has used consistent strength to take the lead at the 2022 Men’s NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.

That will continue into the Day 2 finals as the Longhorns will return six in the finals (2 in the 500 free, 2 in the 200 IM and 2 in the 50 free) as well as three in consolation finals, giving the team a total of nine swimmers returning to the finals, which also doesn’t include diving prelims.

Cal, trying to keep pace with Texas, put four into tonight’s finals with three in the 200 IM (including top-seeded Destin Lasco) and the top seed, Bjorn Seeliger, in the 50 freestyle just ahead of Texas’ Drew Kibler. The Golden Bears also have one B finalist tonight.

Georgia has three in the finals and four total, while Florida has six total but just two in finals. NC State also has two finalists and five total.
There were some extremely impressive performances in the session and it should make for an extremely fast finals.
