2021 SEC Women’s Championship Day 4: Kentucky Wins First SEC Title
The 2021 SEC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship continued with Saturday’s Day 4 finals and the meet capped in historic fashion.
Kentucky won its first ever SEC team championship with a combination of strong top-level point-scorers and depth that placed a multitude of swimmers in the finals.
The Wildcats scored 1,124 points to hold off Florida (1,071), Georgia (999), Alabama (973) and defending champion Tennessee (934).
Kentucky broke five school records and had 12 podium finishes, while the team lowered 39 personal-best times during the meet. The Wildcats had never finished higher than third, which they accomplished the past two years.
Meanwhile some great individual swims happened, as Georgia’s Dakota Luther broke the SEC meet record in the 200 butterfly.

Very nice summary. The detail and commentary were most appreciative. As the “first ever” ladies swim coach at UK, it was nice to see them become the best in the SEC. It was a long time coming; but the ladies and coaches have made tremendous progress recently and 2021 is a year to celebrate!
