2021 Australian Olympic Trials: Titmus, Chalmers, Campbell, McKeown Lead Psych Sheets

The 2021 Australian Olympic Trials will begin June 12 and continue through June 17 as the meet will be held at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre in Adelaide, which has been home of the last two Olympic Trials in Australia. Spots in Tokyo will be on the line as the Australians are one of the last nations to hold their Olympic Trials.

The Aussies won four of the eight relays at the 2019 World Championships, including setting a world record in the women’s 4×200 free. The Aussies will be gold medal favorites come Tokyo in the women’s 4×100 free, men’s 4×200 free and mixed medley as they will show the rest of the world what they have come the second week of June.

Reigning Olympic champs Mack Horton (400 free) and Kyle Chalmers (100 free) will be racing to defend their titles in Tokyo as well as qualify for their second team. Reigning World champ Ariarne Titmus (400 free), and reigning Worlds medalists Minna Atherton (100 back), Cate Campbell (100 free), Kaylee McKeown (200 back), Matthew Wilson (200 breast), Mitch Larkin (100 back) and Emma McKeon (100 fly) will also be in attendance as Titmus, Atherton, McKeown and Wilson will be pushing for their first Games. McKeon is in line for her second Games, while Larkin is pushing for his third.

Veterans Campbell and Emily Seebohm are pushing for their fourth Games after making their debuts as teenagers in the 2008 Beijing Games 13 years ago.

Pop star Cody Simpson is also on the psych sheets for the Australian Olympic Trials in the 100 free and 100 fly as are World Juniors medalists Lani PallisterThomas NeillMeg Harris and Bronte Job.
