Saturday morning’s preliminary session of the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series in Des Moines will feature the heats of the 100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 200 IM, 50 freestyle and 800 free.
Four women posted Olympic Trials cuts in the 200 backstroke Friday evening, led by Team Elite’s Kathleen Baker, who dominated the final with a time of 2:08.08. Michael Andrew also improved upon his own first place world ranking in the 50 fly, touching in at 23.36.
Swimming fans in attendance will get a chance to see superstars Kathleen Baker, Michael Andrew, Allison Schmitt, Leah Smith and Caleb Dressel in attendance on Saturday morning in Iowa.
Women’s 100 Back
Twenty two-year-old Kathleen Baker takes to top seed in Saturday morning’s session of the TYR Pro Swim Series in Des Moines with a time of 1:00.26. Ali DeLoof followed close behind, touching in at 1:00.52. Olivia Smoliga touched for third with a time of 1:01.04.
Fourth place finisher is Klaudia Nazieblo with a time of 1:02.10, followed by Bridgette Alexander (1:02.31), Isabella Arcila Hurtado (1:02.52), and Melanie Margalis (1:02.74). Eighth place finisher going into this evening will be Kennedy Goss, with a time of 1:03.18.
