The final morning of the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas, will have the heats of the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay.
After one of the strongest sessions in recent memory, one that saw three NCAA records, two American records, a three-peat (Mallory Comerford) and two four-year title sweeps (Ella Eastin and Lilly King), the shift is back on the team race in the final day.
The 50 free champion Abbey Weitzeil, of Cal, appeared to injure her right elbow during Friday night’s final relay. She has her elbow wrapped and was back in the water, taking the fourth seed in the 100 free. Before and after the race, Weitzeil had her arm propped in a sling.
Cal leads defending champion Stanford by 28.5 points going into the final day, but the Cardinal have their strongest day on paper coming today.
It should add up to one of the most exciting final days in the past few years as the meet goes down to the wire between these two rivals.
Michigan looks locked in third place with Louisville, Tennessee, NC State battling for the fourth-place trophy and Texas, Minnesota, Virginia, Indiana, Auburn, Arizona, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and USC battling for top 10 spots.

She coasted into the final with a fourth-seed time of 47.28.
Louisville senior Mallory Comerford took the top seed (46.57), followed by Arkansas freshman Anna Hopkin (46.61) and Michigan senior Siobhan Haughey (47.16).
Tennessee junior Erika Brown took the fifth seed in 47.33, followed by Cal senior Amy Bilquist (47.38), Michigan senior Catie DeLoof (47.47) and NC State junior Ky-lee Perry (47.51).
