2019 FINA World Championships Day 5 Start Sheets for Finals

The start lists for the 2019 FINA World Championships Day 5 finals have been released, though the women’s 200 breast could be changed if Lilly King sees her disqualification overturned.

The women’s 200 breast will for now see Russia’s Yuliya Efimova and South Africa’s Tatjana Shoenmaker in the first heat and Sydney Pickrem, Micah Sumrall and Raona Aoki in the second. But King might enter the mix.
The men’s 100 free final will be a sprint showdown at its best. Top-seeded Caeleb Dressel will be in lane four, while Australia’s Kyle Chalmers will be in five. Brazil’s Marcelo Chierighini and USA’s Blake Pieroni will also be in the hunt.
The women’s 50 back final will be just as stacked with stars. USA’s Kathleen Baker is the top seed and in lane four, flanked by Brazil’s Etienne Medeiros and Britain’s Georgia Davies. USA’s Olivia Smoliga, Australia’s Kaylee McKeown and Kira Toussaint of the Netherlands will look to crash the party.
In the women’s 200 fly final, USA’s top-seeded Hali Flickinger will be in lane four, flanked by teammate Katie Drabot and Hungary’s Boglarka Kapas.
The men’s 200 IM final will see top-seeded Jeremy Desplanches of Switzerland try to hold on to the top seed, while USA’s Chase Kalisz and Abrahm DeVine will join Australia’s Mitch Larkin, Japan’s Daiya Seto and Britain’s Duncan Scott are all in the mix.
In the women’s 100 free semifinals, a loaded field will aim for the top eight spots. In the first semifinal, Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom will be in lane four, surrounded by Australia’s Cate Campbell and USA’s Mallory Comerford, while Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands will be in the heat along with Canada’s Taylor Ruck and Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey.
The second heat will feature top-seeded Simone Manuel of the USA flanked by Femke Heemskerk of the Netherlands and Great Britain’s Anna Hopkin, along with Australia’s Emma McKeon and Britain’s Freya Anderson.
In the men’s 200 breast semis, Russia’s Anton Chupkov, Britain’s Ross Murdoch and USA’s Josh Prenot will be in the first heat, while, Australia’s Matthew Wilson, Germany’s Marco Koch and Arno Kamminga of the Netherlands will be in the second.
The men’s 200 back semifinals will see Lithuania’s Danas Rapsys and Russia’s Evgeny Rylov in the first heat and USA’s Ryan Murphy and Japan’s Ryosuke Irie, among others, in the second heat.
