2018 Youth Olympics Opens With Three Medal Events

The 2018 Youth Olympic Games opened on Sunday in Buenos Aires.

Several of the top youth swimmers from countries around the world kicked off the competition with some fast swimming.

Here is a look at the first day finals swims:

Men’s 400 Free

Hungary’s Kristof Milak earned the first gold medal of the games by winning the 400 free in 3:48.08.

Italy’s Marco De Tullio took the silver in 2:48.55, while Japan’s Keisuke Yoshida earned the bronze in 3:48.68.

Womens’ 200 IM

Israel’s Anastasia Gorbenko won the gold medal in the 200 IM, finishing a second ahead of the rest of the field.

Serbia’s Anja Crevar won the silver in 2:13.98, while France’s Cyrielle Duhamel took the bronze in 2:14.15.

Mixed 4×100 Free Relay

Russia’s Kliment Kolesnikov, Andrei Minakov, Polina Egorova and Elizaveta Klevanovich won the mixed 4×100 free relay in 3:28.50.

Brazil’s Lucas Martins Costa Peixoto, Ana Carolina Vieira, Andre Luiz Calvelo de Souza and Rafaela Tevisan Raurich took the silver in 3:30.13.

China’s Shen Jiahao, Hong Jinquan, Lin Xintong and Yang Junxuan took the bronze in 3:30.45.
